Phone culture
EDITOR: Thank you very much for Tuesday's front-page photo of six people sitting at a table engaging in conversation. It was a nice change from people ignoring those around them and staring at the phone in their hands. While there were two phones in the photo, they weren't in use.
Too many times I have seen foursomes in cars and restaurants, with each person holding a phone, doing his or her own thing, while the art of conversation has died around them. Toys are fun, but talking to one another face to face is slowly becoming lost in the tech world.
I have even had to pull people out of the middle of the street where they stopped to read a message.
There is a world out there that goes beyond staring at your hand. Look up, and see what you're missing. That's why my flip phone is in my pocket.
