Third world country
EDITOR: If you look at third world countries, you'll find that typically they have these common characteristics:
-#149 Concentration of wealth in a few hands.
-#149 An inordinate amount of their national budget spent on the military.
-#149 Few if any entitlements for the average citizen.
-#149 Limited education for most of the population.
-#149 Few or no regulations on businesses and industries.
-#149 A tax system strongly favoring the wealthy and powerful.
-#149 Few if any environmental controls.
-#149 Few if any protections for employee unions.
There are those in the United States who believe that a system with the above characteristics would be good for our country but never consider that these same characteristics, if implemented, could turn the U.S. into a third world country.
Of course, there are those who think that the U.S. will always be the richest, most powerful nation on Earth. I'm sure the citizens of Greece, Rome and Great Britain believed that pipe dream before their empires disintegrated.
