A Petaluma man was arrested Tuesday night on suspicion of driving under the influence after he crashed his motorcycle and fled to his nearby home, authorities said.

Drue A. Lake, 30, was riding along the 100 block of West Payran Street around 10 p.m. when he crashed in the middle of the street, according to Petaluma police Lt. Tim Lyons. He said it’s likely the man crashed after he turned too sharply.

Officers were able to find him at home after someone reported seeing the accident and Lake “dazed and walking” in the area, Lyons said.

“He had significant road rash,” Lyons said, adding that the man’s blood-alochol level was .08 percent, the limit that constitutes impairment in California.

In addition to a DUI, Lake was also arrested on suspicion of driving with a suspended license, Lyons said.
