Close to home

EDITOR: So the initiative sponsored by Rob Reiner to tax the wealthy in order to send all our little tots to preschool has qualified for the June ballot. I remember well the little tots in Russia pictured wide-eyed with hands folded in preschool before the "wall came down." Raised by the state, where are they today? China, another example. It beats me why some people are always hammering away at the "wealthy." Don't they know how much it costs them to send their children to college. I say "they" because I am not in that league, but because I love our "free enterprise system," I have no problem with success.

I would encourage you moms and dads to keep your tots close to home as long as possible. You are their best teachers, and they need you.
