A Rohnert Park man was arrested Saturday afternoon after flipping his pickup, which came to rest on top of two parked cars off of Todd Road. The man, whose blood alcohol level was three times the legal limit, walked away with only minor injuries, CHP officials said.

At about 3:45 p.m., Mario Perez-Contreras, 40, was driving a 2008 Ford F-150 east on Todd Road near Phillips Avenue when, according to Officer David Thomas, he drifted to the right and struck a mailbox on a post before crashing into a wood fence on the south side of the road. He continued into the front yard of a house on the 1000 block of Todd Road crashing into an unoccupied 1965 Chevrolet pickup.

The Ford rolled over the Chevy and spun around, ending up on its side on top of the Chevy and a 1990 BMW 535i, which was parked next to the classic pickup, the CHP said.

Perez got out of his car on his own and was detained by officers as he was trying to walk away on Todd Road, Thomas said.

Perez-Contreras, who was on probation for a previous DUI conviction, was treated for his injuries at Sutter Medical Center and booked into Sonoma County Jail, the CHP said. A blood alcohol test showed that his level was three times over the legal limit of 0.08 percent.
