A's claim former Newman, SRJC star Dillon
It took Joe Dillon eight years and nine minor-league teams before reaching the Florida Marlins briefly in 2005. A couple of big-league stints, including one last year with the Milwaukee Brewers, followed.
Now, the Cardinal Newman and Santa Rosa JC grad is coming home.
The 33-year-old first baseman/second baseman/third baseman/outfielder has been claimed on waivers by the Oakland A’s.
