Lou Gehrig could've used a good editor
July 4 was the 70th anniversary of Lou Gehrig’s “Luckiest Man” speech. It’s a famous speech, maybe the most famous ever given by an athlete. Seventy years later, it still has the power to bring a tear to your eye. It still has the power to inspire — at least the edited version does.
You see, we almost always have been given an edited version of Gehrig’s speech, whether in the Gary Cooper movie
