After first day, Arnold fifth in decathlon
When Bryan Clay, the gold medalist at the 2008 Summer Olympics, withdrew before the start of the decathlon at the U.S. Track and Field Championships on Thursday, Santa Rosa’s Jake Arnold didn’t celebrate.
But five events and six hours later, Arnold couldn’t deny that Clay’s misfortune boosted his own chances of realizing his goal — qualifying for the the IAAF World Championships in Berlin in
