May 19-20 - Sonoma County Medical Association Alliance Foundation Garden Tour: From a French Normandy-style home with a cottage garden to an Asian-inspired landscape, this self-guided tour is a ticket into eight different botanical worlds, without leaving Santa Rosa. Food trucks, plant and book sales, music and art, make this an event for all, even if you're not a plant geek. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. $50. scmaa.org

May 28 - Food for Thought Spring Home & Garden Tour: This annual food bank fundraiser is not just limited to west Sonoma County this year. Stops include a Montecito Heights estate with Japanese garden and renovated 1905 home and garden. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. $50. $15 for gourmet box lunch to fuel you along the way. 707-887-1647. June 17 - Garden Conservancy Open Garden Days Mendocino: You can visit one or all three during this pick and choose event, featuring three Anderson Valley gardens, including the venerable Apple Farm in Philo and an 18-acre property in Boonville where sculptor-painter Rebecca Johnson will also be at work. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. $7 per garden. gardenconservancy.org/open-days

June 24 - Mendocino Coast Garden Tour: A garden filled with stained glass, another overlooking the ocean, a third with a nautical theme that includes a grotto entry, highlight this tour, which shows another side of the north coast. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. $40.
