The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office on Monday identified the 73-year-old Glen Ellen woman who was shot and killed Saturday night, apparently by her husband.

Sheriff’s deputies found Alice Rosewsky dead at her home on Warm Springs Road with two gunshot wounds, one in the chest and one in the neck.

Deputies were responding to a call from a man who said he shot his wife after she attacked him with a knife. The Sheriff’s Office did not release the name of the man, who was questioned but has not been arrested. Property records show the Warm Springs Road home belongs to Hans Rosewsky, 76, and Alice Rosewsky.

Sgt. Shannon McAlvain said the Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the nature of the man’s involvement in the shooting death.

“I wouldn’t call him a suspect,” he said. “He’s obviously an involved party. We’re investigating the self-defense element of the case.”
