Pregame notes: Lincecum good to go

Bochy said pitcher had ‘clean MRI’|

Random notes from Giants manager before Fridaynight’s Game 3:

Tim Lincecum had a “clean MRI,” is cleared to play. Bochy wants to watch him before the game, but expects him to be available.

Bochy admitted he may have to tweak middle-inning relief with Machi and Strickland struggling. Said he has Petit, Lincecum (probably), could use Affeldt earlier.

Someone asked Boach if he had considered starting Bumgarner in Game 4 so that he could throw him again in Game 7. Manager said he and pitching coach Dave Righetti considered all options, but that was a lot to ask of a guy who has already thrown as much as Bum has this postseason. Might reconsider if Giants go down 2-1, but “right now Vogelsong is our starter” for Game 4.

The first pitch will be thrown out by Frank Burke, the guy who caught Travis Ishikawa’s pennant clinching home run and returned the ball to the outfielder after the game.

Also, Royals had gone 18 straight games with same lineup. Forced to adjust for no-DH, Yost went nuts: Dyson for Aoki in CF, Gordon up to second spot, Moustakas up from No. 9 to No. 5. No Billy Butler, who usually DH-es (that part was expected).
