Brent Burns' goal in overtime wins it for Sharks, 3-2

SAN JOSE - Brent Burns scored a power-play goal 4:22 into overtime, and the San Jose Sharks rallied past the St. Louis Blues 3-2 on Saturday night for their season-best fifth consecutive victory.

Marc-Edouard Vlasic scored with 21 seconds remaining in regulation to tie the game for the Sharks. Joe Thornton dug the puck out of the corner before delivering the pass to set up Vlasic.

Steve Ott scored his first goal in 10 months late in the second period to put the Blues ahead.

Patrick Berglund also scored for the Blues, who endured their second consecutive disappointing defeat. St. Louis lost 6-4 to the Stanley Cup champion Los Angeles Kings on Thursday.

Andrew Desjardins had a goal for the Sharks.

The Sharks return to the ice Tuesday night for a 7 p.m. game at Anaheim against the Ducks. The Sharks are second to Anaheim in the Pacific Division. They trail the Ducks by seven points in the standings.
