Drivers, what you need to know about Levi's GranFondo

Thousands of cyclists are expected to flood county roads today for the 6th annual Levi's GranFondo charity ride. Here's a cheat sheet to help you avoid the crowds.|

Getting around parts of Sonoma County may be a challenge Saturday as thousands of cyclists hit the roads of west county in the annual Levi's GranFondo charity ride.

Among the riders joining former pro cyclist Levi Leipheimer in the event the bears his name will be 1997 Tour de France winner Jan Ullrich.

The 6th annual group cycle benefits both at-risk youth and Valley fire survivors.

Here's what you need to know about how to get around from www.levisgranfondo.com:

Road closures

1:00 a.m. - 7:00 a.m.: Northbound Stony Point Road between W. 9th Street and West College Avenue

7:00 a.m. - 7:45 a.m.: Northbound and southbound Stony Point Road between W. 9th Street and W. College Avenue

7:45 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.:

Stony Point Road between Glenbrook and W. College Avenue

W. College Avenue between Stony Point Road and Cassasa Way

Hall RoadPartial road closures

W. 9th Street at Stony Point Road

Stony Point Road between Glenbrook and W. Third Street

W. College Avenue between Cassasa Way and Fulton Road

Fulton Road between Guerneville Road and W. College Avenue

Fulton Road between W. College Avenue and W. Third Street

9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Stony Point Road will have two-way traffic on the southbound side. West 9th will not be accessible from Stony Point Road, access will be from Dutton Avenue.

Expect to see the majority of riders between 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.

The majority of the cycling traffic will occur during the following times on the following roads:

8:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

Santa Rosa to Occidental:

West College, Fulton Road, Hall Road, Sanford Road, Occidental Road, Mill Station Road, Sullivan Road, Graton Road

Bicycle traffic westbound.

Bohemian Highway between Occidental and Monte Rio will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. while the bulk of riders pass by. From 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. the road will be partially closed.

8:45 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

Monte Rio to Duncans Mills: Moscow Road

Bicycle traffic westbound.

8:45 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Monte Rio to Cazadero:

Hwy 116, Cazadero Highway

Bicycle traffic westbound, then northbound.

9:00 a.m. – 1:45 p.m.

Cazadero to Tin Barn Road: King Ridge Road

Bicycle traffic north/westbound.

10:00 a.m. –3:00 p.m.

Tin Barn to Meyers Grade: Hauser Bridge Road, Seaview Road, Meyers Grade. Bicycle traffic southbound.

9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Meyers Grade to Portuguese Beach: Hwy 1. Bicycle traffic southbound.

9:15 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Portuguese Beach to Occidental: Coleman Valley Road, Joy Road, Bittner Road. Bicycle traffic eastbound.

9:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Occidental to far west Santa Rosa: Graton Road, Sullivan Road, Mill Station Road, Occidental Road, Sanford Road, Hall Road, Willowside Road. Bicycle traffic eastbound.
