Analy fell behind in the first quarter but then rallied to defeat host Ukiah, 66-52, in a nonleague boys basketball game Tuesday night.

The Tigers trailed by 7 after one quarter but by halftime they were in front, 27-24.

Analy pressed on defense the entire game and held Ukiah to ?9 points in the second quarter and 7 in the third. Meanwhile, Analy scored 43 points in the middle quarters.

“We were able to get some turnovers and open things up,” Tigers coach Brett Page said. “It turned out to be an up-and-down the court game.”

Nick Fujii, whose cousin Max is a basketball legend in the Empire, scored a game-high 18 points. The senior was 12 of 12 from the free throw line.

Dominic Tripoti scored 10 while Travis Holmes pulled down 11 rebounds to go along with 6 points.

Chris Hale led the Ukiah attack with 15.

It was the second road win of the season for the Tigers. They beat Tamalpais last week while nailing 10 3-point shots.

“Getting two wins on the road is an excellent way to start,” Page said. “I think we’re going to have a good season. This is a good group of guys to coach and we’re looking forward to having some fun.”

SAN MARIN 76, RANCHO COTATE 38

At Rohnert Park, the Cougars fell behind 23-3 after one quarter.

“They were the better team, significantly better,” Rancho coach Adam Green said. “If there was a bright spot, it was the emotional rally the guys had in the second half.

“It was rough in the first half, but in the second they supported each other and played more like a team.”

For the Cougars, Demetri Morton was the high scorer with 13. Joe Schiebold had 10.

San Marin’s Tommy Sanz was the game’s leading scorer with 23. Teammate Calvin Geraci had 21.

DE ANZA 54, SONOMA VALLEY 34

At Sonoma Valley, the game started an hour late because the visitors’ bus was unable to find the gym.

De Anza’s defense was smothering and held the Dragons to 3 points in the first quarter. By halftime, it was 31-12.

Dylan Samaniego was Sonoma’s leading scorer with 15.

For the visitors, Jaleon Chandler led the way with 23.

ST. VINCENT 62, AVERROES 11

At Petaluma, the Mustangs opened the season by holding the visitors to 4 points in the first half.

The score at intermission was 31-4.

St. Vincent had three players in double figures with Liam Galten leading the way with 14. He was followed by Nick Murphy with 12 while Will Tarrant had 10.
