SAN FRANCISCO - The Golden State Warriors are a step closer to relocating to San Francisco from Oakland.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports (http://bit.ly/29QoWCS) a judge on Monday ruled that the city's environmental review of the proposed arena was adequate, rejecting arguments it had failed to consider a number of environmental impacts.

The ruling is a blow to the Mission Bay Alliance, which is funded by a group of donors to University of California, San Francisco. The group has filed several lawsuits to stop the project.

The group argues that the 18,500-seat arena would jam area streets with traffic, slowing down access to the UCSF Medical Center at Mission Bay, which is across the street from the proposed arena.

It also says that a basketball arena in Mission Bay is at odds with the cluster or life science research and health-care facilities that has taken root in the neighborhood.
