US Olympic swim team takes wheel for carpool karaoke video

Before they hit the pool, Maya DiRado and the rest of Team USA belted out tunes from Fifth Harmony, Zac Brown Band and Miley Cyrus in a YouTube video watched almost 4 million times.|

Before making a splash at the Rio Games, Team USA cheesed it up American-style taking on pop favorites in their very own version of "Carpool Karaoke."

During a break from a training camp in Atlanta, Maya DiRado, Santa Rosa's own gold medal sweetheart is seen belting out Fifth Harmony's "BO$$" while teammate Michael Phelps jams to Zac Brown Band's "Chicken Fried." They also took on favorites from Taylor Swift, Cheap Trick, Miley Cyrus and even the 'Friends' theme song.

In the video, the carpoolers are seen bonding over Justin Bieber with dancing locals on the streets of Atlanta. Silver medalist Josh Prenot captures a different kind of bonding, a man giving a homeless person something to eat.

The video humanizes the elite athletes while providing a sneak peek into their normal lives. With almost 4 million views on YouTube, its gaining on their 2012 '"Call Me Maybe" lip-synch video, which to date has more than 13 million views.
