The Analy Tigers didn't have the offensive firepower to overcome the swarming pressure defense from Division 1 powerhouse Dublin in a semifinal game at the Windsor Holiday Shootout boys' basketball tournament on Thursday night.

Analy (9-4) trailed 54-34 after three quarters and by 25 points with about 3 minutes to play before a late scoring run made the 71-59 loss less lopsided.

Dublin (10-1) pressured Analy in the backcourt, and it paid dividends by disrupting the Tigers' high-scoring backcourt duo of Dominic Tripodi (14 points) and Aidan Toner-Rodgers (13 points).

The Gaels were led by Conner Jackson with 20 points.

Analy plays tournament host Windsor Friday in the third-place game at 4:30 p.m. Dublin plays Amador Valley at 6 p.m. Friday in the tournament championship game.

Amador Valley 47, Windsor 38

The Dons (8-5) of Pleasanton switched from man-to-man defense to zone in the second quarter and the Jaguars (8-3) did not counter effectively.

“We haven't seen zone much this year and we were slow to react,” Windsor coach Travis Taylor said. “Amador Valley also had some big second chances (on offense).”

Windsor trailed 13-6 after the first quarter as the Dons' Tommy Kramer hit three three-pointers to put the Jaguars behind.

“Those three pointers were the difference in the first half,” Taylor said. “The rebounding was even and that isn't good for us, as that is one of our strengths.”

Windsor was led by Riley Smith with 12 points and five rebounds.

Amador Valley was guided by Mitch Benson with 15 points.

Albany 45, Maria Carrillo 30

The Pumas (4-6) were handled easily by the Cougars (9-3) in a consolation bracket game. Maria Carrillo was led by Jared Garcia with 9 points and Albany was paced by Avri Finch with 12 points.

The Pumas play in the seventh-place game against Healdsburg Friday at 1:30 p.m. The Cougars play Nevada Union in the consolation championship Friday at 3 p.m.

Nevada Union 60, Healdsburg 55

After starting the season 9-0, the Greyhounds (9-2) have dropped two games in as many days. The Miners (8-5) of Grass Valley went on a decisive 12-2 run midway through the 3rd quarter to break open the game. Healdsburg trailed 48-37 going into the fourth quarter and could not overcome the deficit.

The Greyhounds were led by Trey Chapman with 14 points while the Miners were led by Gary Menary with 24 points.

In the Sonoma County Classic tournament:

Cardinal Newman 61, Piner 54

The Cardinals (9-1) relied on a big first half to knock off the host Prospectors (7-4) in a semifinal game.

“We got off to a really good start and did a good job of defending,” Cardinal Newman coach Tom Bonfigli said. “We dominated the backboards and our rebounding was the difference.”

Cardinal Newman will face Mt. Eden in the tournament championship Friday at 6 p.m. Piner will play Las Lomas at 4:30 p.m. Friday in the third-place game.

The Cardinals were led by Damian Wallace with 16 points and Jalen Dural with 10 points and 9 rebounds.

Piner was paced by Jace Foster with 23 points and Scott Erickson with 18 points.

In other Sonoma County Classic games, the Monarchs (10-3) of Hayward defeated the Knights (9-2) of Walnut Creek in a semifinal matchup.

Santa Rosa (6-4) won easily against Roseland Prep (2-6) and will move on to play Cloverdale (5-4) in the consolation championship Friday at 3 p.m.

Roseland Prep will play Eureka (1-11) at 1:30 p.m. in the seventh-place game. Eureka lost to Cloverdale on Thursday.
