Klay Thompson’s Northern California fire relief pledge: $1,000 per point in next three Warriors home games

Warriors All-Star Klay Thompson is stepping up to support the victims of the recent wildfires in the North Bay.

Thompson announced Friday on Facebook that he was starting a “Points With Purpose” campaign to benefit the Redwood Credit Union North Bay Fire Relief Fund.

Toward that end, he said that he will contribute $1,000 for each point he scores in the Warriors’ home games Oct. 25, 27 and 29.

For his career, Thompson has averaged 19.1 points per game, so if he scores his career average he will be donating $57,300.

The Warriors play the Raptors on Wednesday, the Washington Wizards next Friday and the Detroit Pistons on Sunday, Oct. 29.
