Stephen Curry to travel with Warriors to San Antonio

OAKLAND - Warriors guard Stephen Curry may not play in the first round of the NBA playoffs. But he will still travel with the Warriors to San Antonio today for Games 3 (Thursday) and 4 (Sunday) of their first-round series against the Spurs.

That way, Curry can both continue rehabbing his Grade 2 MCL sprain in his left knee with the training staff and also be around his teammates.

The Warriors plan to re-evaluate Curry on Saturday, but Warriors coach Steve Kerr has maintained Curry will not play in the first round even if the Spurs extend the series. This week, Curry has ramped up his on-court work with running, cutting and shooting drills. He has also completed both private workouts at the Warriors’ practice facility and open workouts before Games 1 and 2 at Oracle Arena.

Curry has remained happy with the steady progress and zero setbacks he said he has experienced since injuring his left knee on March 23 and subsequently sitting out the Warriors’ final 10 regular-season games.

But Curry has admitted feeling anxious both with staying on the sidelines and experiencing the monotony of rehabbing his left knee. Curry also went with the Warriors on their two-game trip to Phoenix and Utah during the final week of the regular season.
