The two Sonoma County women who qualified for the World Equestrian Games in vaulting finished ninth in the Pas de Deux competition Thursday at the Tryon International Equestrian Center in North Carolina.

Florence Rubinger of Santa Rosa and Katie Keville of Cotati competed for two days with their horse Revlon and lunger Mary McCormick at the prestigious event. Their combined score of 7.538 was ninth among 12 competitors.

Rubinger, 31, and Keville, 28, ran a gauntlet of international events beginning in March to qualify for the 2018 WEG, the sport’s equivalent to the Olympic Games.
