Warriors GM: Steve Kerr to travel with team to San Antonio

Golden State's ailing coach will fly with his team for games in Texas Saturday and Monday but isn't expected to be on the sidelines.|

OAKLAND — Steve Kerr isn't expected to coach the Warriors from the sidelines in Games 3 and 4 of the West Finals, but he will be making the trip to San Antonio, Bob Myers told 95.7 The Game on Wednesday afternoon.

This is the latest sign of Kerr's progress. After being away from the team for about a week and missing the Warriors' two road games in Salt Lake City during the last series, Kerr returned to practice right before the West Finals and came to the arena for Games 1 and 2, delivering mic'd up halftime speeches.

Now he'll make the flight to San Antonio and presumably join the coaches in meetings, the players in practices and the team at the arena for Game 3 and 4, likely staying in the back during game action.

Kerr remains without a firm timetable for his return to the sideline. In his absence, Mike Brown will continue to coach the team. The Warriors are 8-0 under Brown in these playoffs.
