Support local fire victims at these three North Bay music events

Since the recent North Bay wildfires, benefit concerts to aid fire victims have popped up all over the region. This weekend, a trio of large events all embrace the theme of strength through unity as friends and neighbors recover from the devastation.

Here’s the lineup:

“Sonoma Strong: A Benefit Concert at the Village,” 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday. Village Court, Montgomery Village shopping center, Santa Rosa.

The roster includes popular Bay Area party band Pride & Joy, Santa Rosa country singer Pete Stringfellow, West Coast Cajun and Zydeco band Gator Nation and local show band The Poyntlyss Sistars. Admission is free. All money raised by the sale of donated food, drink and T-shirts, plus proceeds from a raffle, photo booth and VIP table reservations - as well as direct donations by the event’s attendees, sponsors and business donors - will go to fire relief efforts. bit.ly/2zMzVLY

Montgomery Village owner David Codding, son of pioneering Santa Rosa developer Hugh Codding, has promised $50,000 in matching funds for the Redwood Credit Union’s fire relief fund and has guaranteed $10,000 from beverage sales.

“Since my dad helped build Santa Rosa, I’m going to do what I can to rebuild,” David Codding said.

The event also includes free barbecue lunch for first responders and their families from Harris Ranch and Cattlemen’s Restaurant.

“Wine Country Strong”: 2 p.m. Sunday. The Latin, hip-hop and rock sextet Ozomatli headlines. Lincoln Theater, 100 California Drive, Yountville. Admission is free, and the event includes a chef’s picnic honoring first responders and emergency workers for their service during the fires. Donations to Napa Valley Community Foundation Disaster Relief Fund, Sonoma County Community Foundation Resilience Fund and Firefighter Relief Fund are recommended. 707-944-9900, lincolntheater.com.

“Mendocino Strong Together”: Live entertainment, 4-10 p.m.; dinner, 4-7 p.m. Saturday. Redwood Empire Fairgrounds, Ukiah. Performers include the singer Greg Schindel, Margie Rice String Quartet, guitarist Alex DeGrassi, pianist Spencer Brewer; composer and keyboardist Ed Reinhart, singer Paula Samonte and multi-instrumentalist John Mattern, with Waylon and the Wildcats and the Johnny Band closing the show. State Sen. Mike McGuire will serve as master of ceremonies. The event also features live and silent auctions. All donations will go directly to those in need and are being managed by North Coast Opportunities.
