An injured bike rider was flown to a Santa Rosa hospital Monday after apparently being struck by a hit-and-run driver while riding along Highway 1 in The Sea Ranch, according to the CHP.

The 11:50 a.m. crash happened at Highway 1 and Leeward Spur. An initial crash report indicated a driver in a truck pulling a trailer hit the rider, possibly with a side mirror, and kept going. The vehicle could be missing its side mirror.

The rider was taken by medical helicopter to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. Further information was not available.

The Sea Ranch, just south of Gualala, is a residential and vacation community on the northern end of Sonoma County’s coastline.
