KQED’s radio program, “Forum” with Michael Krasny, will be broadcast live from Sonoma State University on Wednesday morning, as the program discusses the community backlash against winery expansion.

The remote broadcast from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. is part of the show’s “Forum on the Road” series and is a first for Sonoma County. The event in the Student Center Ballroom is free to attend and listeners may tune in on 88.5 or 88.3 FM in the Bay Area.

Krasny, host of the two-hour weekday call-in program, said SSU was an ideal choice for the first-ever Sonoma broadcast, calling the Rohnert Park campus “an incubator of innovative ideas.”

The winery boom backlash will be the subject of the program’s first hour, with industry representatives, community activists and local officials invited to weigh in, the university said in a press release. The 10 a.m. hour will discuss courting the millennial vote, and SSU students will be invited to talk about the presidential primary campaign, political engagement on campus and issues that matter to them.
