Lakeport police arrest two in bicycle hit-and-run

Lakeport police on Wednesday arrested two people in connection with a vehicle hit-and-run incident that seriously injured two bicyclists.

David Lent, 28, was arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run, causing great bodily injury. His mother, Lynda Lent, was arrested on suspicion of being an accessory to a crime.

David Lent is suspected of crashing into the two cyclists, Corey Bauman, 41, of Lakeport, and Nicolas Thompson, 32, of Upper Lake, Tuesday evening near Martin and Bevins streets. Witnesses to the crash described the vehicle that struck them, and police tracked it to the Lents’ home, where they were arrested.

Both of the victims were airlifted to hospitals out of the area. Bauman on Wednesday was listed in critical condition and Thompson was in serious condition, police said.
