Mendocino County Sheriff’s detectives are investigating a possible domestic violence and kidnapping incident in Covelo.

Negie Fallis, 27, of Covelo is suspected of abducting at gunpoint his girlfriend, Khadijah Britton, 23, also of Covelo on Friday just before midnight, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff’s officials said they were contacted on Monday about the incident.

Witnesses told sheriff’s deputies that Fallis arrived at home on the 23000 block of Airport Road, armed with what looked like a derringer pistol, demanding to speak to Britton. When the young woman came out of the home, an “altercation” between Britton and Fallis occurred before they both got into a black Mercedes sedan, officials said.

Britton’s family members have not seen her since that time. The Sheriff’s Office said Fallis is wanted for a previous domestic violence incident in January that involved Britton.

Officials said Fallis is known to frequent the Willows and the Grindstone Rancheria in Glenn County, Lake County and Covelo. The Sheriff’s Office said anyone with information about the case can contact the sheriff’s dispatch center at 707-463-4086 or the sheriff’s tip line at 707-234-2100.
