Petaluma considering water, sewer rate hikes

Like Santa Rosa, Petaluma is considering sewer and water rate hikes.

The Petaluma City Council will decide Monday whether to adopt increases that would mean the typical Petaluma residence would see its monthly water bill increase 3.8 percent in the New Year to $36.92. Homes that use 18,000 gallons a month or more could see a 12 percent jump in their bill, to nearly $240.

Sewer bills for the typical residence would increase by 2.6 percent, to $63.83.
