A quick-thinking Sonoma County sheriff's deputy rescued a kitten he spotted running on a highway onramp over the weekend.

Deputy Woodworth saw the animal while on patrol Sunday night on the onramp of Highway 12 from Highway 101, according to a Facebook post.

The collarless kitten was dirty but not injured and according to the sheriff's office will be cared for until she finds a new home.
