Resident injured in Lake County house fire, 3 cats saved

A Hidden Valley resident was injured Saturday in a house fire that destroyed 50 percent of the structure, Cal Fire reported.|

A Lake County resident was injured Saturday afternoon in a house fire that destroyed 50 percent of the structure, Cal Fire reported.

Cal Fire and the South Lake County Fire Protection District crews responded to the blaze at 1:17 p.m. in the 1800 block of Spyglass Road in Hidden Valley. The fire was reported to be coming from the garage, and upon arrival, firefighters discovered downed power lines.

The victim was rescued from the structure and taken to St. Helena Hospital Clear Lake with undisclosed injuries. Three cats also were rescued.

Cal Fire estimated the damage at $200,000. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
