Three injured in Kenwood head-on crash

A CHP officer said the driver of one of the vehicles might not survive|

Three people were seriously injured Friday morning in a head-on crash on Highway 12 near Kenwood, the CHP said.

It happened about 10:25 a.m. near the intersection of Warm Springs Road when the driver of a westbound Chevy Suburban crossed into oncoming traffic, Officer Marcus Hawkins said.

He collided with an eastbound food truck carrying two people, Hawkins said.

All three were taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.

The food truck driver was identified as Sabino Coronel-Rosas, 43 of Santa Rosa. His passenger was Claudia Mendoza, 32, also of Santa Rosa.

The driver of the suburban was not identified because of the possibility he would not survive his injuries, Hawkins said.

Alcohol has not been ruled out as a factor in the crash, he said.
