Sandman Hotel in Santa Rosa completes renovation

The Sandman Hotel in Santa Rosa has undergone a $3.5 million six-month renovation of its property, including upgrading its pool area.

Owner Stephen Yang will celebrate with his employees the refurbishment of the property, located at 3421 Cleveland Ave., with a re-opening ceremony on Tuesday night. Yang bought the property in October 2015.

Crews repainted the structure and put in new landscaping around the property. All 135 rooms of the hotel also have been updated. The focus, however, was primarily on a new pool house and bar where guests can order food as well as beer and wine.

Yang said he bought the property with the intention to upgrade, noting that few other local properties have done such renovations, outside of the Hyatt Vineyard Creek.

“A lot haven’t made the investments necessary to keep up a hotel,” Yang said.
