Donate an instrument May 9 at Montgomery Village

Wells Fargo Center for the Arts is collecting used musical instruments on May 9 at Montgomery Village for their instrument lending library.|

Do you have an old trumpet or an abandoned viola gathering dust in your closet?

Donate it to the instrument lending library at the Wells Fargo Center for the Arts, and it will go to a needy child through the art center's Music for Schools Program.

Wind, brass, percussion, Orff and stringed instruments will be collected from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 9 at Montgomery Village, 911 Village Court.

Throughout the day, you can also enjoy performances by school bands and orchestras, from the Elsie Allen High School Jazz Band to the Windsor High School String Orchestra.

The Wells Fargo Center's Music for Schools program maintains a collection of more than 400 instruments available for use by local children who might not otherwise have access to musical instruction.

Instruments are also collected year-round. To arrange, call Tracy Sawyer at 707-800-7259.
