Guy Fieri filming 'Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives' in the Bay Area

Guy Fieri was recently spotted outside Scolari's Good Eats in Alameda where he was filming his Food Network show "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives." (@SVOCK)

When a woman waiting for a bus in Oakland thought she'd spotted Guy Fieri stepping into a red Mustang, she tweeted at the Food Network host to confirm. He responded quickly, "it's actually a Camaro..."

That's typical for Fieri, a Santa Rosa resident with a reputation for being real and approachable. He's keeping it local for the new season of "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives," filming segments this week in Oakland, Alameda and the North Bay.

Fieri also paid a visit to rock legend Sammy Hagar in Mill Valley for a belated birthday present, SFGate reports. Hagar let his "brother from a different mother" choose a guitar from his vast collection to keep.

A few days later, a fan spotted the host's unmistakable blonde spikes outside of Scolari's in Alameda on Friday. Will we see Fieri chowing down on the meatless Impossible burger soon?

It's not clear whether Fieri will be filming in Sonoma County, but he did manage to pop in and hand-tossed pizzas for CHP officers in Rohnert Park last week.
