No records were broken, but it made for fairly good, juicy television Friday when Sonoma County’s defending grape-stomp champions faced off before a national audience against Ryan Seacrest and Kelly Ripa.

Santa Rosa sisters Dee Dee Lombardi Brandt and Angela Lombardi Carvalho displayed their winning form as they bare-footedly squashed grapes in a tub next to that of the hosts of the ABC morning show.

Seacrest and Ripa wrapped up a week of record-seeking by trying to set a new Guinness World Record in one-minute team grape stomping.

Neither they nor the Sonoma County sisters, who next month will defend their title as champions of the Harvest Fair grape stomp the past two years, broke the current record. But they liberated some juice and had a blast.
