Police are searching for two men suspected of shooting a woman and assaulting a man in their Cloverdale home Saturday night.

The suspects entered the back of the home on the 400 block of North Foothill Boulevard through an unlocked sliding door and demanded valuables, Cloverdale Police Sgt. Chris Parker said.

The unidentified woman was shot once in the stomach and the man, whose identity also was not released, was punched or pistol whipped in the face, Parker said. The man called police at 7:19 p.m., Parker said.

Both were airlifted to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital and are expected to survive, he said.

Parker said police are still trying to piece together details about the attack and are working to determine a motive as the victims provided limited information, he said. It was not clear what, if anything, was taken from the home.

“We are still looking into why this location, why these folks and we’re going from there,” he said.

The incident is not related to cannabis, Parker said.

The suspects were wearing dark clothing, and one had a black handgun of an unknown make, model and caliber, Parker said.

No other details were available Sunday.

Anyone with information should call Officer Beau Gastineau at 707-894-2150.
