Safari West has named its newest baby giraffe “Dubs,” in honor of the Golden State Warriors, whose fans are called Dub Nation.

Dubs, a male who was born Nov. 28, is the second new giraffe at the wildlife park north of Santa Rosa. A baby girl named Nikki was born Nov. 8.

In a news release, Safari West said his “energetic” and “uptempo” personality made him particularly well-suited to a Warriors-inspired name.

Dubs will soon dwarf even the tallest player on the Warriors. He weighed 122 pounds at birth and was measured at 6 feet, just 3 inches shorter than MVP Stephen Curry.
