FORESTVILLE: Gather on Front Street

The merchants of Front Street in downtown Forestville will celebrate the bounty of fall from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, at the tasting rooms paired with light appetizers from local restaurants.

The participating tasting rooms are Wine Guerrilla, Jigar and Joseph Jewell. Canneti’s Roadhouse Italiana, Backyard Forestville and Twist Eatery will provide the bites.

UPPER LAKE: John Ash at Tallman Hotel

The Tallman Hotel continues its series of celebrity chef dinners with Chef John Ash at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, which includes a menu from Ash’s most recent cookbook, “Cooking Wild.”

The event begins with a reception and book signing at Riffe’s Meeting House. Blue Wing Executive chef Mark Linback will serve the “wild” dinner in the Tallman Dining Room.

HEALDSBURG: “Harvest of Hope” benefit

“Harvest of Hope” will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, at the bucolic Dragonfly Farm. It’s a fundraiser for the Compassion Without Borders nonprofit, which is dedicated to improving the lives of animals.

The dog-friendly event includes a special wine poured by Mutt Lynch Winery, tasty treats provided by Bay Area food trucks and games for kids.

SANTA ROSA: Crossing the Jordan party

Crossing the Jordan, an 18-month residential life transformation program, will mark its fifth anniversary at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, with a Not Forgotten Soul Harvest Celebration at the Vineyard Creek Hotel Resort.

Appetizers, wine, desserts, coffee and lemonade will be served, along with an outdoor performance by local talent and beats by Tru Lyric.

POINT REYES: Dinners, classes at The Fork

The Fork at Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Co. has scheduled a new series of farm dinners and classes at the world-famous creamery overlooking Tomales Bay.

Farm dinners will be served Oct. 13, Nov. 17 and Dec. 8, with a farm brunch Dec. 3. A special Cakebread Cellars Winemakers Dinner will be held Oct. 28.

Classes include “Baking with Brickmaiden,” taught by the Point Reyes Station bakery owner Celine Underwood on Nov. 11; “Holiday Sides with Fork Chef Jennifer Luttrell Nov. 18; and “Bubbles and Bites” with Gloria Ferrer sparkling wine, taught by Luttrell Dec. 9.
