TURKEY TROT, NOV. 23

Healdsburg: 5K run/walk through downtown Healdsburg starting at 8 a.m. Thanksgiving Day. Registration is $35 for adults, $25 for ages 6 to 18 and $15 for kids five and under. Part of the entry fee and all the sponsor proceeds go to the Rotary Club of Healdsburg to support victims of the fires in Sonoma, Napa and Mendocino counties. REDWOODS FRIDAY, NOV. 24

Glen Ellen: Admission to Jack London State Historic Park is free 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Redwoods Friday, a statewide celebration of California's redwood parks. Join a guided, moderate 4-mile Turkey Waddle hike through the redwoods, visit the ruins of Jack London's Wolf House home that burned in October's fires and take the Beauty Ranch Tour of historic structures for sustainable agriculture. Golf cart rides are free 12 to 4 p.m. only. Meet in the ranch parking lot, 2400 London Ranch Road. Rain cancels the hike.
