Forestville Club hosts fundraiser for Rio Nido Roadhouse

Well of course, the recently reopened Forestville Club on Saturday hosted a night of music and revelry to raise recovery dollars for the flood-shuttered Rio Nido Roadhouse.

Especially along the lower Russian River, this is just what neighbors do.

The Flood Relief Fundraiser concert was conceived by the organizers of the Real Neato Music Festival that's scheduled to rock the Rio Nido Roadhouse in June. Most of the bands that performed at Saturday's benefit are in the lineup for the June fest, too.

Talking turns on the stage of Wayne Speer's Forestville Club were One Grass Two Grass, EagleWolfSnake, The HA, Front Room and Dominique Gomez.

Guests of the Flood Relief Fundraiser, co-sponsored by the marijuana producer Flow Kana, paid at least $5 at the door. And throughout the night they pitched in more to help Rio Nido Roadhouse owners Brad and Raena Jones Metzger make all the repairs necessary to reopen their restaurant-bar and entertainment venue.

The Rio Nido Roadhouse went well under water in the flooding of late February.

Saturday night's Flood Relief Fundraiser supplemented a GoFundMe appeal that so far has brought in nearly $31,000 to help the Metzgers get the lights back on, the doors reopened and the community back to enjoying itself at the Rio Nido Roadhouse.
