SEAWEED WALK, MARCH 3

Jenner: Learn about seaweeds and the animals that eat them, take a half-mile walk and sample some seaweed soup 4-5:30 p.m. Stillwater Cove Regional Park Cove 22455 Highway 1. Wear shoes that are good for wading and walking, and bring a cup and spoon to sample the soup. Meet by the trailhead in the northwest corner of the day use parking lot. Parking $7. FAMILY WALK, MARCH 4

Glen Ellen: Take a 2-mile accessible walk for all ages and abilities on a paved trail and learn about wildfire ecology in oak woodlands 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. in Sonoma Valley Regional Park 13630 Highway 12. Enjoy a picnic lunch or bring your own before the walk. Register at SonomaCountyParks.org. Parking is $7 but free to Regional Parks members.

ARBOR DAY, MARCH 7

Sebastopol: Celebrate Luther Burbank’s birthday and Arbor Day at Burbank’s Goldridge Experiment Farm 10 a.m.- 12 p.m. Farm Curator Alex Stanley will plant two Lovell Peach rootstocks to replace ailing rootstock. This annual event is free and open to the public. Following the planting, cupcakes and apple cider will be served at the Cottage . 7777 Bodega Avenue, Sebastopol.

PUBLIC HIKE; MARCH 10

Santa Rosa: Join a moderate to strenuous 3-4-mile public hike to see how the wildfires impacted Pepperwood Preserve and what is being done for recovery, 9 a.m.- 1 p.m. Bring a bag lunch and meet at the Dwight Center, 2130 Pepperwood Preserve Road. Sebastopol: Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition’s safety instructors hold a free, family bicycle workshop 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Sebastopol Independent Charter School, 200 S. Main St. Children must be 7 and older and able to ride a bike with their parents. Functional bike and helmet required. The event includes instruction in a parking lot and a supervised bike ride.
