Numerous tips from the public led local law enforcement to arrest a man suspected of robbing a Rohnert Park credit union, authorities said.

The Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety said it learned about ?10 a.m. Saturday that a man walked into the Patelco Credit Union and showed a teller a note demanding cash, which he received. The man fled before officers could arrive at the credit union.

Authorities published a photo of the suspect, and numerous tips identified him as 31-year-old Akili Holmes, who officials believe lives in Sonoma County without a fixed address, according to a news release from the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety.

Holmes was seen in a parking lot about 10 p.m. on Marlow Road in Santa Rosa, where police detained him until detectives from Rohnert Park could arrive and arrest him on suspicion of robbery and burglary, according to the department.

As of Sunday afternoon, Holmes was being held in the Sonoma County Jail with a $70,000 bond.

Police did not specify how much money was taken from the credit union or how much, if any, was recovered.
