Three-year prison sentence for man convicted in Guerneville arrow launch

A Guerneville man who was convicted last year of shooting a handmade arrow through the roof of a car parked in front of his apartment, striking one of two men sitting inside, was sentenced to three years in prison.

Shaun Gallon, 30, was sentenced Wednesday for the Jan. 27, 2009 incident that triggered a two-day SWAT action that shut down part of Guerneville while deputies surrounded an apartment, believing he was still inside.

He turned himself in to authorities five weeks later and was charged with assault with a deadly weapon. He was convicted in June.

The victim, James McNeil of Monte Rio, wasn't seriously injured. He suffered a bruise and small puncture wound to his head.
