A Lake County woman accused of having sex with her teenage son is scheduled to be back in Napa County Superior Court on Thursday.
Mistie Atkinson, 32, of Nice, faces four felony charges: incest, oral copulation with a minor, lewd contact with a minor and distributing lewd materials to a minor, according to Napa County court records.
Those records indicate Atkinson was an absentee mother who located her 16-year-old son through the Internet last year. They began "sexting" in October and developed a sexual relationship soon afterward, prosecutors allege.
The teenager was aware the woman was his biological mother, according to court records.
Atkinson sent her son nude photos of herself. Police also reported finding cellphone video recordings of her performing oral sex on the boy. Atkinson and her son discussed running away together, court records report.
The boy's father learned of the affair and obtained a restraining order against Atkinson in December.
An arrest warrant was issued March 2. Atkinson was found with her son in a Ukiah motel room a few days later and arrested.
She remains in the Napa County jail, where she is being held on $200,000 bail.
The court hearing Thursday includes discussion of a potential negotiated plea.
