ASPHALT PLANT NEAR WILLITS APPROVED

The Mendocino County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday amended the county zoning ordinance to allow an asphalt plant to be added to a rock quarry above the Ridgewood Ranch near Willits, the final resting place of famed racehorse Seabiscuit.|

The Mendocino County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday amended the county zoning ordinance to allow an asphalt plant to be added to a rock quarry above the Ridgewood Ranch near Willits, the final resting place of famed racehorse Seabiscuit.

The board also approved an environmental impact report on the Harris quarry expansion. The project next goes to the planning commission
