A 130-pound French mastiff named Boomer showed what kind of a mug it takes

to win the Sonoma-Marin Fair's ugliest dog contest Sunday, beating out Nana, a

tiny Chihuahua mix at the popular event in Petaluma.

Boomer, owned by Judith Buder of San Rafael, won the overall contest, as

well as the pedigree division.

Nana, owned by Yvonne Morenes of Santa Rosa, won the mutt division and came

in second to Boomer in the top ugly dog competition.

The 57th annual event fair, held at the Petaluma fairgrounds, ended Sunday

after a five-day run. About 60,000 people were expected to attend the fair,

which included traditional midway rides, entertainment and agricultural

competitions.
