Three people were injured Sunday evening in an apparent head-on crash near Glen Ellen, including one driver who firefighters had to cut free from their wrecked vehicle.

The 6:25 p.m. crash occurred on Highway 12 near Dunbar Road, according to fire officials.

Two Sonoma Life Support ambulances took the three to area hospitals. Initial reports indicated their injuries weren’t serious.

Firefighters had to cut a door off of one vehicle to free the trapped driver. The person was out of the wreckage by 6:38 p.m.

The evening crash reportedly caused traffic issues on the major east Sonoma County route.

Details from the CHP weren’t available Monday. Firefighters from Kenwood, Glen Ellen and Santa Rosa responded.
