SAND CITY — Authorities have identified two people killed in a shootout with police in the parking lot of a Northern California Target store that also left two officers wounded.

The Monterey County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday that 27-year-old William Spaits and 23-year-old Tina Money were killed in a shootout with police in the parking lot of a Target store in Sand City.

Monterey County District Attorney Dean Flippo tells the Monterey Herald reports (http://bit.ly/1KyNTOd ) that Spaits was wanted on a no-bail parole violation and $300,000 in other outstanding warrants.

Flippo says Money was scheduled to appear in court, but after failing to show up for three hearings, a warrant was issued for her arrest on Aug. 21. Flippo said she had warrants totaling $160,000.

Sand City police say one of the officers wounded Monday has been released from a hospital.
