The CHP arrested a Tracy man who crashed his motorcycle, suspecting he was intoxicated as he drove with a passenger on rural Valley Ford Road.

Officers arrested Armando Lopez, 54, Saturday evening after the man lost control of his 1999 Harley Davidson motorcycle, CHP Officer Jon Sloat said.

Lopez had been driving near Spring Hill Road at about 5 p.m. when his bike hit gravel and a curb, traveled down a short embankment and overturned. Lopez and passenger Katalina Lara, 50, of Petaluma, both wearing helmets, were thrown to the ground, Sloat said.

Lopez had multiple broken bones and was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. He was arrested at the hospital when officers determined he was suspected of being intoxicated. He was released to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Lara had minor injuries, Sloat said.
