A passenger was killed in an early Sunday pickup crash in Windsor and the driver is facing DUI charges, the CHP said.
The Chevrolet Silverado was exiting northbound Highway 101 at Lakewood Drive at 1:09 a.m. when the vehicle ran off the road and struck a metal pole, authorities said.
The passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers on Sunday did not release the victim’s name or gender, pending notification of next of kin.
The driver, Gabino Luis-Santos, 22, Windsor, was treated at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital and later booked into the Sonoma County Jail on complaints of driving under the influence of alcohol and manslaughter, the CHP said.
