Head-on collision briefly closes Highway 1 near Bodega Bay

Several people transported to Memorial Hospital with minor to moderate injuries.|

California Highway Patrol officers are investigating a two-vehicle, head-on collision that temporarily closed down Highway 1 just north of Bodega Highway Sunday morning.

The crash left several people with minor to moderate injuries and all were transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, a CHP official said.

The accident took place just before 10 a.m. and three ambulances and two tow trucks were dispatched to the scene. Redcom dispatchers said few details were available.

By 12:30, the CHP said no further information was available and officers were still on the scene. The roadway is now open, the CHP said.
